Nestled on a private peninsula surrounded by pristine tidal creeks and coastal marshlands, Village Creek Landing offers one of the most breathtaking waterfront settings on Saint Simons Island. Overlooking the renowned Marshes of Glynn and providing panoramic views of Sea Island, Little Saint Simons Island, and Saint Simons Island, this unique venue combines natural beauty, southern charm, and family hospitality in an unforgettable setting.

Located at the end of South Harrington Road off Frederica Road, Village Creek Landing occupies the historic site once known as Cusie's Fish Camp. Today, the property serves as a premier destination for weddings, rehearsal dinners, family reunions, fundraisers, private celebrations, and corporate events. Guests enjoy stunning marsh views, expansive outdoor gathering spaces, and a peaceful coastal atmosphere unlike any other venue in the region.

Village Creek Landing is also home to Southeast Adventure Outfitters, offering guests access to a variety of outdoor experiences including kayaking, kayak fishing, fishing charters, birding and nature tours, sunset cruises, and boating instruction. For couples and event hosts seeking a truly memorable experience, wedding departures by boat and private sunset cruises can be arranged when tides permit. Family Business

A true family-owned and operated business, Village Creek Landing was purchased in 2018 by the Gowen/McQuigg family, who have deep roots in both the property and the local community. Since 2009, Michael Gowen of Southeast Adventure Outfitters co-leased the venue, helping establish it as a beloved gathering place. Following the purchase, the family expanded opportunities for clients by opening the venue to a wider selection of locally licensed caterers.

The Gowen / McQuigg Family 2023

The family's commitment to craftsmanship and sustainability is reflected throughout the property. Much of the venue's interior was renovated using reclaimed pine and oak harvested from the family's Satilla River property after a tornado. The salvaged wood was milled and repurposed into flooring, beams, bars, benches, and restroom finishes, creating a warm and authentic coastal aesthetic. Dr. Jim Gowen, a recently retired local OB-GYN and accomplished craftsman, personally built many of the venue's custom features, including the handcrafted pine benches used for wedding ceremonies.

Recent enhancements include an expanded wraparound upper deck and an extended roofline, allowing guests to enjoy sweeping marsh views in comfort throughout the year.

At Village Creek Landing, every event is supported by family members who each play an active role in the property's operation. Their dedication, hospitality, and attention to detail ensure that every gathering is as memorable as the extraordinary setting itself.
